The planners at the UCSD Hillcrest Medical center had to comply with the NPC-3 mandate for non-structural seismic performance. They also had to continue providing first-rate care for patients without interruption during the seismic retrofit. With ETC on their project, they were able to meet both requirements.

The United States Geological Survey—in its first-ever nonstructural earthquake retrofit project—has selected Essrig Taylor Construction (ETC) to secure the contents of multiple buildings for its Earthquake Hazards Mitigation program at the organization’s flagship campus in Menlo Park, California.

San Ramon, a 123 bed advanced acute care hospital, turned to the health care construction experts at ETC to complete a non-structural (NPC-3) retrofit throughout the facility, bracing fire sprinkler and medical gas systems, anchoring suspended ceilings and securing vital lab equipment with flexible fastening systems, all to withstand a major earthquake.
